Day #5829 – (Sun., Dec. 21, 2025) – Niagara Falls!

My wife and daughter took a bus trip to Niagara Falls this morning!

Back in the Comox Valley I took Bobby to Benino Italian CafĂ© & Gelato! He opted for a waffle cone and we also got a “Steamer”, which is basically steamed milk with flavoring. He opted for the “Cinnamon Bun” flavor. While at Benini’s we took the table at the back, my favorite booth, and played some Comox Valley Opoly, or Comoxopoly (see photo to the left).

Last night I tried a little “experiment” with Bobby. I had him taste some oatmeal with blueberries dipped in maple syrup. He liked it, and had a big bowl of the “stuff” this morning. The good news is that he wasn’t sick all day… I told him that if he ate this every morning it’s very possible that his stomach problems would disappear!

I had a chat with my wife and Katie via Facetime this evening and I guess the Niagara Falls trip didn’t pan out as they had hoped. The biggest disappointment was not the falls, but the tour guide and the bus! I guess that they couldn’t understand the tour guide, and the bus was basically just a city bus, not the luxurious coach buses that I have been on in the past. They promised internet on the bus, but it was not too be. Anyway, Niagara Falls are Niagara Falls, and you can see Katie all decked out in front of them in the photo to the right.

Katie had an idea that we would only open a few gifts Christmas morning as they bought some stuff in Toronto and won’t have time to wrap it as they are arriving late on Wednesday night. Fine with me. I mentioned to her that we also have quite a few days of the Advent Calendar left to open, so we could open those as well. The last time we opened Advent Calendar gifts was on Friday, the day they flew out.

Maple took over the bottom half of Bobby’s bed this evening so he had to sleep sideways. I went in to check on him in the middle of the night and put the blanket on top of him so he wouldn’t get cold.
