I drove Katie to the Starbucks in Courtney (outside Driftwood Mall) for a 9 am meeting with Jax and Zoe. They are finalizing the presentation that they are going to be giving the elementary school kids this week. I came back to pick her up at 10:30 and we went for a drive. We ended up at the Dairy Queen where Katie picked up a small chocolate dipped ice cream cone (see photo to the right). She prefers this over the large as it’s just the right ratio of chocolate to ice cream.
Isaac and Esca came over for a play date this morning and they started off this Bobby play date with a swim at the local pool. After they tuckered themselves out they came back to our house to play till it was time to go home.
This evening I reminded Bobby of the “3 Things Routine” we would go through to put him to bed years ago. The idea was that he would come up with three things and I would weave them into a story. He wanted to do this again today, without the “putting to bed part”, and gave me these three items: (1) A panda, (2) a rotten apple, and (3) a guy named John. I weaved them into a story of a panda who knocked on the door of the Shaolin Temple in China. The master, named John, welcomed him inside and taught him all kinds of martial arts. He said that when the panda could grab the rotten apple from his hand, it would be time for him to leave the Shaolin Temple. After many years of training he was able to do this, so “time for him to leave”.
