Day #6019 – (Mon., June 29, 2026) – Not John Deer Tractor

I was having some of the sweet potato taffy that I made in the dehydrator last night and low and behold, it took my crown out! I made an appointment with the dentist to have it “glued” back in tomorrow morning. Unfortunately they didn’t have an appointment for today…

I took the kids to Miss Daisy for their viola/violin class this afternoon. We left at 3:15 pm and the lessons were from 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm (5:15 pm actually). I dropped the kids off and went for a coffee and came back. When I arrived back at Miss Daisy’s house there was a deer on the front lawn, near the tractor (see photo to the right).

I got a call from Avacord (formerly Waypoint), the car insurance people. Insurance on the van is due so I will need to deal with that as the van is in my name. They gave the option to do it over the phone, but I think I might just as well drop off at the office to ensure that all the paperwork is in order.

There is a chance that the BC nurses will walk off the job on Thursday. My wife might have to go to the hospital in Campbell River and fill in if the strike goes through, we we will see. As it stands right now, there will not be a full walkout, and deployment is not expected at this point.
