I took the kids to their viola/violin lessons with Miss Daisy this afternoon. Bobby was not feeling well, he was tired and had a headache, so there was some talk of him having a shorter lesson today, but it was business as usual, with the same length of lessons, once they arrived. Katie was excited that Daisy told her about the various types of medication she could take, and the fact that if she tried them in the prescribed order by the doctor, and they weren’t effective, she could get the effective ones for free.
While the kids had their lessons I drove to Tim Horton’s on Cliffe Avenue to get a coffee. Alas, the place was packed, so I just watched some videos in the parking lot till it was time to go back and get the kids.
This evening Bobby was not feeling well so he rested (see photo to the right), and Katie helped me do a bit of mowing in the paddock area (also, see photo to the right). The grass is so tall that it didn’t take long for the batteries to lose their power. Oh well, a little here and a little there and the job will be done.
I’m taking Bobby to the dentist tomorrow morning. We will then swing around and pick Katie up and all go to see the 12 noon showing of “Spiderman” in 3D at the Landmark Cinemas in Courtenay.
I’ve been watching the television series “Alone”, and the first season in particular showcases Vancouver Island. Here’s what ChatGPT said about it: “The first season of Alone (2015) introduced a groundbreaking survival competition in which ten experienced outdoorsmen were dropped separately along the rugged wilderness of northern Vancouver Island with only ten chosen survival items and camera gear to document their own experience. Completely isolated from one another, they had to build shelters, find food and fresh water, endure relentless rain, cold, predators, and crushing loneliness, with the only way out being to “tap out” voluntarily or fail a medical evaluation. As the weeks passed, the greatest challenge proved to be not only surviving the harsh environment but also overcoming hunger, isolation, and the psychological toll of being completely alone. The season showcased remarkable ingenuity, resilience, and vulnerability, culminating in a battle of endurance won by Alan Kay after outlasting the other contestants and surviving primarily on shellfish, seaweed, and other wild foods.“
