Day #6058 – (Fri., Aug. 7, 2026) – Over To Raheem’s House

Bobby lost his watch and a lot of the morning was spent looking for it. He usually puts it on his desk, but it wasn’t there. The question arose, the last time he saw it was on Sunday afternoon. Where could it be? Well, rather than go over to a friends house he spent the afternoon scrapbooking with Katie, then playing “Cards Against Humanity” with the family. I posed the thought that it could be behind the bed, and guess where it was? Behind the bed! Daddy strikes again!

It looks like Bobby will be starting back on Tuesday, September 8th. It looks like Katie will be back to school the day after, Wednesday, September 9th. My wife will be going to Duncan on the 9th as well.

Katie and I went for a drive this afternoon. Her new instructor wants her to have between 20-30 hours of driving before she continues driving lessons, and she already has 10 hours, so 10 more to go. It would be good if she could get these 10 hours done this month, in this way, once school starts up again, she can focus on her school work, but yet still keep up her driving from time-to-time to keep the skill level up.

Katie and I ended up in Crown Isle, one of her favorite neighborhoods to drive in. There is enough action going on, whether it be cars, pedestrians, dogs, or golf carts, but yet not so much as to be overwhelming for a beginning driver.

There is a frog that stays in the pool near the chicken coop. He mostly rests on a branch waiting for flies and mosquitos, but he will jump off and go into the water if he gets scared.

Bobby spent the afternoon at one of his classmates, Raheem’s house. They spent quite a bit of time in their “over the ground” pool. After a good afternoon of fun they decided that they wanted a sleepover, so Bobby will be spending the night there.

Later today we got a text from our neighbor Carolyn. She is trying to introduce Bobby to another young boy she knows. My wife texted his mother this evening: “Hi Julie! Carolyn gave me your number, but I just finished working, so didn’t get a chance to text you 🙂 Bobby’s also going into grade 6. I just found out that he’s staying at a friend’s house for the night. We’re not sure when he will be back, but depending on when and how tired he is, tomorrow might still work. I’ll keep you posted. Do you have plans for Sunday?
