Day #6119 – (Wed., Oct. 7, 2026) – Katie General Manager!

Bobby’s leg is still bothering him but he felt well enough to go to school today. I dropped him off at the entrance then drove home to have a quick nap, then drive Katie to Vanier at 10:50 am.

Hens love to sun! Hazy still lays an egg a day, but it’s been a week since Empress laid one and months since Morticia did. Silky is broody and horrified of other hens and keeps hiding. No eggs from her either. Winter season is here!

Katie was the “general manager” at the store her business class has developed at Vanier. They already have vending machines, but this store sells so much more, such as deodorant. They are making quite a bit of money and these funds will go back to the school to pay for stuff.

Being a “general manager” is quite a nice little something to put on your resume. Katie is starting to doubt whether she wants to be an entrepreneur as she is thinking she wants to help people with her life. I pointed out that entrepreneurs can really help people by giving them jobs and donating to various causes. She has plenty of time to figure out what vocation she wants for her life!

On the drive to Vanier we talked about the new computer system she is wanting. I think we will get Bobby a new gaming system at Costco as he is doing intensive gaming with his 3D glasses and such. His PC will then go to Katie. If Katie is still not able to run “Planet Zoo 2” on this new setup, we will get her a computer at Costco as well.

One of the problems that Katie identified with a desktop computer is that she will need to sit at it. She likes to have a laptop so she can lie on the bed and pat Batman. She’s willing to make this sacrifice and has already developed tentative plans where Batman can sit while she plays.

I picked up Katie at Vanier at 1 pm this afternoon and drove her home. I picked up Bobby at Huband at 2:35 near the “garbage cans” in front of the buses (see photo to the left). He mentioned that he wanted to leave around 11 am or noon today, but his watch was dead so he had no way to contact us. He told me that his two best friends are Ezra and Zephyr. I made a reference to the “Three Musketeers” and he laughed.

Katie went to viola group class this evening.
