Katie was very tired this morning. She played for a bit and then started to rub her eyes. I asked her if she wanted to go to bed she should go to her bedroom. She picked up her sleeping sack and headed off down the hallway to her bedroom. I read her a story, changed her, and put her into her bed and turned on the waterfall soother and soon she was out.

I drove my wife to the North Carolina Department of Highways to get some paperwork done on her car and there happened to be a toy train hobby store next door. Of course I had to check it out. They had all kinds of toy trains, including Thomas the Train. They even had a little setup displayed on a table … possibly the Thomas The Tank Engine Table (see photo and link to the right). We will have to take Katie here as she loves trains.
This evening I was playing with Katie when I flew my head back and started to sway with my arms held out. Katie immediately go the hint and started to perform her little dance. What a ham!
There is a Lawrence Welk segment where three guys who are miners do a tap dance routine. Whenever Katie comes on she puts on her dancing shoes (figuratively) and dances along.
If you are interested in seeing what Katie loves to have for breakfast I have posted a photo to the left. She likes fried eggs with cheese (no runny yolks), and grilled mushrooms and tomatoes.
We threw some of the plastic balls that we got yesterday in the tub this evening when Katie was taking a bath. I showed her how if you push them down into the water and release them they would fly up into the air. She got a great kick out of that.
11:07pm and our little chipmunk is wide awake. In order to tire her out I have been playing the saxophone and throwing my head back and putting my arms out like I am dancing. She gets a great kick out of that and laughs and laughs. My wife wanted to feed her some organic strawberries but we are out right now…let’s hope that she will sleep after having some mango, etc….
11:59pm – We just got back from a quick drive to Apex and back. Katie is “out like a light”. Those drives work like a charm…
