MSFT & META both reported good earnings yesterday, which also bodes well for NVDA, so I thought I would take my wife out to lunch to celebrate. We went to Yiamas Greek Taverna in downtown Courtenay. We love this food and it reminds us a bit of Bosphorus, the restaurant in Cary that we loved so much. I called them up and they said that all their patrons park across the street at Shoppers Drug Mart, so parking wasn’t an issue.
The food was good, but a bit “unusual” when compared to the Bosphorus. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the Bosphorus is more of a Turkish restaurant while Yiamas is Greek. For example, their pita bread was cut up and their yogurt dip was more fluffy and whipped (see photo to the left). Nonetheless, it was very good and my wife and I could not stop eating. The bill, with tip, came to $115, so it wasn’t cheap either.

Katie made cupcakes in cooking class today. I guess that the girl she was making them with forgot to put the sugar in, but they did remember before they baked them, which was good…
Katie found a place to put her guitar. She wants to hang it on the wall (see photo to the right).
We got an email that Katie and Bobby are now officially Australian citizens! The next step is to apply for their passports in Vancouver before Katie turns 16 next January. Apparently the kids don’t need to come, but both parents might need to? My wife is going to call the consulate on Monday to find out.
I’m thinking of taking Bobby to the “Hen & Hog” restaurant in downtown Courtenay tomorrow morning. He always loved their bacon and he never got a chance to go there the last time we flew to Courtenay as we left him in Chapel Hill with Arnesa. It will make for a unique Daddy/Son Day.
