Day #5645 – (Fri., June 20, 2025) – Huband Pool Party!
As I was driving Bobby home after school I asked him if he liked school here better than in Chapel Hill and he was very emphatic yes!!! He said they do more things here and have longer recess and lunch. He said us school gave him stress and headaches… so nice to hear say this.
Even Katie, on the way home today after picking her up said how she was almost hoping school would start again as she is going to miss her friends… I told her this would happen and she’s starting to see it… I told her when she goes to college she will miss her friends and the good times here… the way it goes… I told her to try to be thankful for what you have and try to find joy in the little things… she’s coming around. She also talked about doing some designs on her arm, which she did (see photo to the right).
We learned that Esca’s house, who Bobby will be going to tomorrow to celebrate Esca’s birthday, was the same farm on Burns Road that we were thinking of purchasing before we moved to Courtenay.
Today at Huband the teachers took Bobby’s class to the pool across from Boba Island. He told me he had fun, but the teachers wouldn’t let them wander outside to play in the water fountains.
Katie and I went for a drive tonight. We stopped off at Starbucks and the guy at the counter said that we were so nice to him he was going to give us an extra cake pop. I learned that he is studying math at UVic. He said that everything in Victoria stays open till 2 am, which is good to know. I think Katie would really enjoy going to college there if she wanted to…
There is a lot of talk about getting a traffic light at the intersection of Huband and Island Highway. Lots of accidents occur there.
