Day #5733 – (Tue., Sep. 16, 2025) – New PAC Secretary!

Both kids went to school today! Bobby rode his bike to school today. That new “chain” combo lock is working great! They say that they are less secure than the metal rod locks, but it doesn’t appear that Huband Elementary is a hub for bike crime… 🙂

Oh, we got a “thank you” note from Mrs. Nelson, Bobby’s teacher. My wife picked her up a Paddington Bear when she was in London during the summer.

We went ahead and ordered the 14′ adult trampoline from Amazon! It’s the largest that they sell. We figure that for a few $ more, Bobby will be able to bounce on it longer as he grows up. Also, larger size means more kids that can fit on it, and larger playdates and hopefully more fun! If the timing of the assembly is right we may blindfold Bobby and take him to it as a surprise… 🙂

Batman sure loves the attention! (see photo to the left). Katie got a 100% on her math homework/classwork!

My wife went to a meeting of the Vanier “Parent Advisory Counsel” this evening and came home as their new secretary! She didn’t plan on that, but nobody volunteered and they started about thinking of sending the email to the parents asking someone to volunteer, so she said – if nobody wants, I’ll do it. She got an ovation 😂. The president of PAC said that she became the president the same way – nobody else volunteered. The treasurer said that she volunteered because she read that public service looks good on job applications. And indeed, she recently got a job at the credit union.

I guess the treasurer lady is very “techy”. Her son is in grade 10 and just started the robotics program. Apparently he lives that stuff, but for two years didn’t do it because he didn’t know anybody there. She is the same person who mentioned promoting and funding academics at school, not only sports.

The kids had their viola/violin lessons this evening!
