My wife and Katie flew home from Toronto today (see photo to the right).
I stopped off at Thrifty Foods to pick up some “goodies” for Christmas dinner tomorrow. I asked Bobby if he wanted to come shopping but he opted out… There was an option to have Chinese food, but Katie wanted a traditional dinner. Here’s what I got:
- Turkey thighs
- Chicken breasts
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Cranberry sauce (regular & jellied)
- Spinach & goat cheese salad
- Frozen pancakes (Katie’s request)
- Breakfast frozen “egg sandwiches”
- Christmas cupcakes
- McCain “waffle” fries
- Muffin assortment
- Ice cream bars (chocolate & strawberry shortcake)
I told Katie that if she really wanted pancakes on Christmas morning, McDonalds on Cliffe Avenue is open and I could be persuaded to go get her some. She liked that idea, so we’ll see what happens.
Two hens were sitting on the coop heater this evening so we will have to work something out… Perhaps permanent duct tape secured with some tacks will dissuade them…
The flight from Toronto –> Vancouver –> Comox landed at 11:08 pm this evening!
