Day #6077 – (Wed., Aug. 26, 2026) – Denny’s In Colwood & NVDA Earnings!

With the big “Guess Who” concert over, and that “VIP Meet & Greet” out of the way, it was time to head back to Courtenay from Victoria. First stop, Denny’s in Colwood, a Victoria suburb, where I had their Lumberjack Special breakfast.  Interestingly enough, today is NVDA earnings report day after the bell, and Denny’s is where the three guys got together to come up with the idea of NVDA in 1993! Side note… their earning were SPECTACULAR! Stock is way up after hours!

Katie has been getting Bobby to do some editing for her (see photo to the right).

Katie found some Lego Advent Calendars and was thinking that we could utilize these for the family this year. I think that’s a great idea as for the past couple of years it’s been hard to figure out what to put into the two custom Advent Calendars that I made for the kids years ago. We don’t want to give them just candy and sweets each day, and they are past the stage where a simple little toy or trinket, will satisfy the moment. Maybe these Lego Advent Calendars are the next stage? We’ll see!

When I arrived back in Courtenay later this afternoon I was so tired that I couldn’t even speak. I went right to bed and relayed the details of the concert and the “VIP Meet & Greet” to the family afterward. We were all assembled in Bobby’s bedroom as I told the story. Bobby was building a Minecraft mansion on the computer, Katie was cleaning his shelves, and my wife was resting on the bed and about to go take a bath.

Dolly Parton died yesterday! My wife and I were talking about this. How she not only came up with great songs, and was a celebrity musician, but helped so many people in her life with charity events and book clubs and whatever. What a celebrity example to follow! I wonder if she ever had $1000 VIP Meet & Greets that disappointed?
