Day #6098 – (Wed., Sep. 16, 2026) – Model Un Poster

It’s great that Bobby is now on antibiotics. Unfortunately, it will take a day or so for them to “kick in”, so no school for him today. I drove Katie to Vanier at 8:50 am this morning.

On the way to school Katie and I talked about how you need to try to enjoy your present day as much as you can. You can dream about UBC and the life you will have, and that is great, but try to make today special and wonderful and happy as well. When she gets to UBC she will look back fondly at what she has here in Courtenay, so why not recognize and enjoy it now?

Katie made a wonderful sign for the Vanier Model UN Club (see photo to the right). The school will be advertising their various clubs at “Club Day” on Friday.

I’ve been picking Katie up at the side of the sports rink but think I might be switching to the area where I drop her off in the morning. This afternoon there were a group of boys and the owner of one of the cars was trying to impress the other boys with how loud it was… That’s something I can do without. It seems the other area of the lot has a more tranquil clientelle.

One of our neighbors had a table outside that they were giving away for free (see photo to the left). My wife needs one for the barn, but with my “sore knee” I’m in no position to help her get and move it.

In driving Katie home from school today we got talking about change, and how you can tell yourself, “I am this” all day long, but until you internalize it, to the point that you think it’s fact, you will always be haunted by the old belief. It’s not something I’m perfect at, and still struggle with, but at her age she has a chance to perfect it over the years.

I’m feeling a “hole” at the back of my teeth… I think one of my fillings might have fallen out… 🙂
