Day #731 (Wed., Jan. 4, 2012) – 2 Years Old Today!
Happy Birthday Katie! She is two years old today…my how time flies.
I was drinking a cup of coffee on the bed this morning and Katie decided that she would come and sit with me an watch cartoons. Well the coffee went all over the place. Luckily it was not too hot so nobody got burned.
My wife contacted Mattel (which now owns Fisher-Price) about the basketball that blew up the other day. They are going to send us a new one for free.
I ran some errands around town today. I saw a wooden kitchen sink set a JC Penney for $72 with 60% off. When I took it to the cashier I learned that it was $72 after the discount so I took it back…
We took Katie to a kiddie gym, PlayNation in Morrisville. The gym was geared more to older kids, but Katie did enjoy some aspects of the gym. There was a big inflatable “bouncy” area that she could jump up and down on. There was also two little playhouses with play kitchens and play fruits and veggies. She even spent a while in the baby swing. The slides were a bit too “fast” for her so we had to make sure she didn’t scoot off the end and hurt herself. We have some discount coupons for five visits so we will definitely be back.
This evening I made some gingerbread muffins and put two candles in one (see photo to the right) for Katie. This is her official birthday cake and we sang her “Happy Birthday” as my mother looked on via Skype.
Katie’s official birthday presents for today are: (1) TuTu and ballet slippers and dancing lessons, (2) Baby Doll Crib…still being worked on but she plays with the parts, (3) Trip to the indoor kiddie play area.
