When Katie doesn’t want to be “put in her crib” she will often throw everything out of it. You can see an example of the result in the photo to the right.
My wife took Katie to the playground this morning while I cleaned up the place. We are having our friends from Charlotte stop by on their way back from Virginia this evening. They will be bringing Dalia’s father and lady friend when they stop by. I’m cleaning up the place and we will have to cook the meal for tonight’s supper. After Katie’s nap we continued to clean up the place and then got dinner ready.
Our friends have a boy who is a couple of years older than Katie. Katie has been asking to go see Helen all day today but when Timmy arrived she seemed content to play with him. Timmy and I tried to play a card game but Katie seemed bound and determined to take some cards off the top of the pack and keep them. Timmy got tired of all the drama and soon the card game ended.
Dalia brought a number of “assorted pieces” that belonged to the various toys that they brought with them during their last visit. The pieces that I was the most happy to receive were the wooden dowels that fit into the “pounding toy“. When they dropped the original toy off since two dowels were missing I tried to make a couple in their place. They did work…but there is nothing like the “original”. Now Katie will be able to pound away without spending time to find the two missing pieces.
