This morning my wife and I put the gazebo we had in Cary onto our backyard while Katie played in the vicinity. This will be the frame for the deer netting to ensure that deer do not get to our fledgling vegetable garden. It’s a rather ideal structure…sure beats having to devise a frame out of wood and all the accompanying work involved.
The photo to the right shows some of the Easter cookies that my wife made. She cut down the sugar content and they were still tasty.
This afternoon I drove to Home Depot & Lowe’s while my wife stayed home and took care of Katie. Here’s a list of some of the supplies:
1) 6 bags of compost
2) 9 x 8′ lattice wood
3) Twist ties
4) 2 different Nails
On the way home I also stopped off at Barnes & Nobles to get a book on London and then to Trader Joe’s for supplies.
When I got home I gave Katie some stickers that I got from Trader Joe’s. She put one on the car and I had a real hard time getting it off. I asked her to not do that again and she agreed. Let’s hope.
After a salad on the patio (it’s nice this time of year due to the lack of bugs) I gave Katie another “Special Present”…a flying disk toy. You basically pull a twisty rod through the center of this disk and it will fly up into the sky. Katie really like it…I think because there is no noise associated with this particular toy.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
