My wife had work to do this weekend and wanted to clean up the place so I thought I would take Katie out for our Daddy/Daughter Day #5. We left at 10:30am and didn’t get back home til 3:30pm…so it was a jam packed day of fun.
We drove out to Cary so that Katie could ride on the carousel at the Cary Town Center. She was asking about it yesterday. We arrived at 11:30am and it didn’t open til 12 noon, so we wandered the mall and came to an arcade (see photo to the left). Mostly for adult children…but they said I could take Katie in as she was with an adult. She loved wandering around. She was particularly fascinated with a game about Zombie’s. She told me “It’s a game for older kids” when she got scared…
One of the highlights was the chance to see Santa. They were having problems with their camera so we got to talk to Santa for free! Normally you can’t talk to him without paying for one of their photo package deals (cheapest of which is $20.00). Katie told me that she wanted to tell him to bring her toy animals that she didn’t already have. Once she was talking to him she said that she wanted a toy giraffe…she already had a mommy and wanted a daddy one. I made sure that Santa told me exactly what she said…
We then drove out to Blue Ridge Theater to see “Monster University”. After about 35 minutes she said that she wanted to leave and go back to the mall to ride on the carousel, so off we went. We also had some french fries and lemonade (which Katie loved).
On the way home we stopped off at Chapel Hill Library so Katie could do some reading. I also borrowed three books for her to home to read.
