Day #1681 (Mon., Aug. 11, 2014) – Protective Of Katie
The photo to the right shows the comic books that Katie and I have been reading as of late.
Dance camp is over and Nikki is back to taking care of Katie. My wife tells me that Nikki makes Katie sit down at the table when she eats and will not let her leave til she has finished her meal. Sounds like a good idea to me.
I guess Nikki was getting her apartment repaired today and some workmen stopped by. Miley, Nikki’s dog, ran up to Katie on the couch and started barking. She is very protective of Katie. I can see that we are probably going to have to get a dog for Katie at some point.
I’m always trying to find innovative ways to get Katie to eat…especially in the evenings. When she eats she is easier to handle and it’s a lot easier to put her to bed. This evening I took some slices of cheese to my wife and told her not to let Katie have any as I had some cat food ready for her in the kitchen. I tried to keep it away from Katie as I handed it to my wife. That did the trick…she ate two or three pieces. I’m going to have to remember this strategy for the future.
