Day #1782 (Thu., Nov. 20, 2014) – Signing Her Name
Katie was kid of the day today. MacKenzie also gave her a bracelet that she made. My wife went to bed early tonight and told me that she had a very good day and would probably be able to go to bed around 7:30pm tonight. Right…
The first thing Katie wanted to do was for her and I to color a picture together. She chose a Thanksgiving Turkey and had me rip the page out of the book. I would color in a spot and Katie would color in a spot. When we were done I asked her if we should both sign it. She said no, she would sign it as she chose the picture. She then proceeded to sign her name (see photo to the left). This was the first time I ever saw her sign her name without a “crutch” of having a version of her name to copy from. She did a pretty good job. She did tell me that the “A” was not perfect. I see that her “E” needed to be fixed as well.
I did have Katie in bed by 7:30pm….sort of. She didn’t actually go to sleep til 9am though. My wife up around 8:30pm.
