Today is Katie’s first day as a 1st Grader. My wife took her to school this morning. I guess the kids were supposed to pick up their number and this determined which table they sat at (see photo to the right). Katie’s number was 6.
When I got home from work this evening Bobby greeted me in the driveway and I gave him a bit of a drive back and forth.
It was hard to pry information about Katie’s first day of school out of her. If it is this difficult I can only image how hard it’s going to be to get information out of her once she becomes a teenager. A couple of things I did learn is that her Chinese room teacher does not speak English in class at all. This will be total immersion into the Chinese language and Katie is not too happy about it. It is nonetheless the best way to learn a new language.
Bobby would not fall asleep this evening. I went and picked him up out of the crib and Robin happened to jump onto the stool at the same time. For whatever reason Robin really wanted a pat this evening. I kept showing Bobby how to gently pat the cat but he would haul off and hit him from time-to-time. Robin was startled but he still stuck around…I guess he wanted to be patted that much.
I told my wife that I’m really going to miss this little creature we affectionately call “Little Man”. When he gets older he basically becomes a totally new creature and the “Little Man” we know now will cease to exist…
