Last night was a tough night for little Katie. She’s been having a hard time sleeping, and often wakes up crying. Here are the details from my wife’s emails:
————————————————
We got up just before 10 am… Of course, Katie was screaming with tears in her eyes – she is definitely not comfortable…
Katie fell asleep at midnight, got up at 1 am, 1:45 am… So – that was not it. At 4 am Katie started screaming again – I found her asleep in a position in between sleeping on her tummy and on all fours. Maybe her tummy was aching… Then she got up before 6 am, then before 8 am… I was sooooooooo exhausted.
I’m feeling fine now. Katie is getting better too – she was very clingy at first, but now is playing with lego mega blocks in the hallway. She was crying in the playyard and I asked her if she wanted to go to the hallway and she said “ta” which I took for “taip” [pronounced tape] in Lithuanian. :))) She did the sme last night when I asked her if she wanted her daddy to feed her.
Oh my – she just learned to throw the blocks downstairs!!!!!!!!!! You should see that determined look in her eyes guiding each and every one of the blocks through the railing…
I am not sure if that was teething or gas. Since all night she was sleeping on her tummy – maybe gas? Even now her face is all red from sleeping on it…

We are starting to prepare for our trip to Canada next Friday (yes, a bit over a week from now). We are so excited. We are starting to get things organized for the trip. The mittens that my mother-in-law (see photo to the left) sent from Lithuania will certainly come in handy to protect little Katie’s delicate little fingers…
This will be the first time that my family will get to see little Katie and it will be great fun. Who knows, she might be able to take her first walking steps without assistance while we are in Canada. Won’t be long now…
