I put my birthday present up today (see photo to the left)!
I’m not sure what got into the rooster the other day but he sure is “spooked” today. When I opened the gate the hen ran out but there was no sign of the rooster. I opened the door to the coop and he was roosting. He eventually started making a commotion and ran out, but he was soon back and resting again…
I pick up the kids after school today. Bobby was telling me that Dominic is someone who likes to tease people. I guess Bobby was with some girls the other day and Dominic went by saying “kissy, kissy”. I gave Bobby some advice but I think I will take him out for a Daddy/Son Day soon and explain the whole process how to handle people like this. I asked Bobby if he would be open to developing a closer relationship with Brody, who he likes. Maybe take them both to the move sometime. My wife said that usually Brodie comes with his brothers. Maybe Esca who just moved here from Germany? Bobby likes him so I think we’ll try to develop that relationship more. It seems that there are people like Dominic everywhere, and every time, even when I was a kid.

I picked up Katie after school today as well. She said that she plans to join the volleyball team next year. She is unsure if she is going to audit the University of Toronto class on intro psychology.
This afternoon the kids made sugar cookies with their mother (see photo to the right).
This evening my wife and Katie heard Bobby crying upstairs. Katie said not to worry because “He is 10”. Then they heard him cry again and Katie ran upstairs to check on him. Apparently he was playing VR and hit his fingers on the chest of drawers. He couldn’t move them at first, but after some icing he’s fine with very blue knuckles.
I called up Scott at “Garage Door Depot” about the automatic gate quote and his estimate is now $14,000 as opposed to the $8,000 to $10,000 “rough” quote that he gave us while on the property. Nothing shady, just things cost more than he anticipated. I also contacted Innova Doors to see if they could update their estimate for only one automatic gate. I called Scott, the auto gate guy that Amanda recommended, and he was on his way to Italy to check out the latest offerings of one of his suppliers. He suggested getting Tower Fencing to install a more “generic” as opposed to “custom” gate, so I gave them a call. Dave at Tower Fencing is going to be here at 10 am on Wednesday to see the property.
