Day #5603 – (Fri., May 9, 2025) – Wife’s Birthday

Katie is still home sick today but Bobby went to school. I picked up Bobby at Huband at 2:30 pm and he planned to go to Dominic’s place later today. Well, he did wander over there, but nobody was home. Dominic probably didn’t realize, or forgot, that his family had other plans.

It’s my wife’s birthday today! Bobby bought her a birthday present from the entrepreneur fair that they had at Huband the other day (see photo to the right). Grades 6 & 7 were selling stuff that they made. Katie made my wife card. I talked to my wife and we decided to give “ONE BIG PRESENT” for the “3-Event” Birthday/Mother’s Day/Anniversary trifecta! A Ninja Creami!

I picked up the Creami tonight at Costco, and then some “fixins” at Thrifty’s after that. Bobby loves the Leprechaun “mint” cones that we used to get at Aldi, so I thought he would really like the mint Oreos! I also picked up a tiny watermelon at Costco so that should make some very tasty watermelon ice cream. I will mix the ingredients and freeze them in the four containers that come with the machine beforehand. In this way, when I give the present on Mother’s Day, this Sunday, we will be able to turn the machine on and make ice cream right away!

Katie made a new cover for one of her journals (see photo to the left).

We heard the Snowbirds overhead today. We were wondering if we would hear aircraft from the Comox Airport as it is so close, but we rarely hear flights day to day. The Snowbirds are actually a welcome treat this time of year as they do their practicing here.
