I had an appointment at Canadian Tire this afternoon to get the headlight and left turn indicator on my Camry fixed. It came to a bit over $100, which was not too bad. While I waited I went to Quality Foods “A Step Above” coffee shop and enjoyed an Americano with almond milk. I got to talking to the lady who served me and she told me that her first job was at the Courtenay McDonald’s back in the mid-70s. I took the opportunity to find out a bit about what Courtenay was like back then. No mall, fewer businesses, and a lot of trees!
After picked up my car I stopped off at Canadian Tire again and picked up a round nose shovel (see photo to the right). I got the cheaper one at under $20, as our problem doesn’t seem to be these implements wearing out, but finding them once we purchase them… 🙂 At any rate, for the little that we will use this shovel, it will last for years and years.
Katie met with Sophia, the Chinese girl in our neighborhood, at Huband School, this afternoon. Katie learned that Sophia is interested in getting into an Ivy League School as well.
My wife wanted to go for a drive this afternoon. We ended up talking about volunteering at the hospital. We also talked about the young pharmacist at Courtenay Pharmacy and how he has a masters in cancer research.
Katie and I went for a drive later this evening. We ended up at McDonalds where I picked up a small black coffee. She had a 6-pack of McNuggets and a small strawberry Fruitopia.
I plan to take Bobby to see the “Fantastic Four” movie at Landmark Cinemas. We have a movie & kid’s combo pack gift card to use up. We’ll probably go to eat at McDonalds or “his choice” beforehand to fill him up so that the small portion of popcorn in the kid’s combo meal will suffice.
