I took Bobby out to see the movie “Fantastic Four” at Landmark Cinemas today for Daddy/Son Day #98 (see photo to the left). I had a free gift card for a kid’s movie/combo, so we went out to eat at Wendy’s beforehand, the strategy being that if Bobby’s tummy was full he would be fine with the limited amount of popcorn that this combo offered.

At Wendy’s (see photo to the right), Bobby got the kid’s meal and a medium frosty. The kid’s meal came with some kind of a “Potato Head” toy, so we talked about these and recalled the “Despicable Me” car toy that we got at McDonald’s on the way to Ocracoke. We talked about playing with it on the floor of the cottage in which we were staying.
In this movie the two main characters have a baby, which is a very new direction for “The Fantastic Four” superhero team that has been around since I was a kid! On the drive home I mentioned to Bobby that this is the first time I went to see one movie, “The Fantastic Four”, and left having watched a different one, “The Fantastic Five”.
Oh, and isn’t it some sort of a humorous situation or joke that we watch a movie about someone having a baby on “Labor Day”?
This evening I took Katie out for a drive so she could talk about her day. She went to Qualicum Beach with Madeline and her family. They ended up at a place called “Goats on the Roof”, which is a touristy place. They have a restaurant and sell stuff as well. I guess that there are goats roaming around and can actually go onto the roof! I told her how interesting it would be to have a multi-layered restaurant where there is a climbing path so the goats could actually go up and down and greet the patrons on the various floors while they are enjoying their meal. In order to encourage the patrons to not give them food from their plate, which would probably be bad for the goats, there were little vending machines at each table which accepted credit cards and would dispense “goat treats” if the patrons wanted to feed the goats while they were dining. There could also be interior tables away from the “action” in case the patrons wanted to see all the goats, but not be bothered by them during their meal.
Katie told me that Kaylee, a girl she really likes, is in her science class this year!
My wife moved the “Red Tractor Seat” from the bedroom on the main floor to the barn today!
