When I was growing up the kids went back to school the day after labor day. Now they have what they call “Teacher’s Work Day”, and the kids go back to school the day after that. This effectively means that the kids will go back to school tomorrow, and today is “School Eve”! Katie’s school starts at 8:00 am tomorrow and Bobby’s at 8:45 am. As far as Katie is concerned, tomorrow will be a day to help orient international students. Her first full day of classes will be on Thursday.

I set up the “Wire Combo Lock” for Bobby’s bike today (see photo to the right). As you will recall, the assembly that held the previous combo lock to the frame came loose and fell off. We’re going to try to wrap this one around the bars of the bike and see how it goes this time. My wife is driving Bobby to school tomorrow so that she can meet his teacher, but it will be ready for him nonetheless when he decides to “drive off”!
The kids had their viola/violin lesson with Daisy at 4:15 pm today! They went shopping and to pick up groceries afterward.
This evening Katie and I went for a drive. She wanted to talk about Madeline, her friend, their issues, and her efforts to expand her friend group. Madeline is with her in both social studies and math class, but unfortunately her friend Emma is not in any of her classes.
We just learned that Bobby is in Mr. Cristensen and Mrs. Hudson’s class for 5th grade. It will not be a “split” grade meaning that 6th or 4th grade kids will also be in the class.
