Both kids are back at school today. Bobby had his first day of class at Huband, and Katie went to Vanier today to volunteer. Tomorrow is Katie’s actual day of classes, but today felt “pretty close”. She loved it!
She ran round helping new students find their classes, and held various conversations! She asked them what grade they were in, their names, and for international students, where they came from. She said it was GREAT!
After getting the students acquainted her friends Emma & Amelia did some other stuff like taking a tour and setting up the place where they will be giving out hot dogs. Emma was great!
As it turns out, Amelia is also in the math class that Katie has with Madeline. Emma is planning on joining Katie and Madeline for lunch.
All in all, volunteering at school today made Katie start to think about joining student government. One of the new friends she met today, Ace, said that she would run if Katie did! The best thing is that Katie enjoyed it so much that stress was minimal! She thinks that this might be “Her Year”!
Katie took Maple out for a walk when she got home from school (see photo to the right)!
After school today Bobby got invited over to his classmate Esca’s house. They live on Burns Road, and oddly enough, we were thinking of buying their exact property before we moved to Courtenay. They had a great time at Esca’s house and I drove over to pick him up at 4:20 pm. I was able to meet Esca, his younger brother Remi, and his mother Laura. I could see Esca’s dad working in the garden. They have a REAL RELAXED CHILL dog!
