Esca came over after school today. I told him that he was such a good friend to Bobby and was always welcome in our house. He’s a nice boy but quiet. I told Katie that the best way to deal with a quiet boy is to start to engage them in something fun. They will fit in and be having fun before you know it.
Esca has quite the collection of animals at the farm he is living at. A dog, goats, chickens, a rooster, and a horse (and perhaps a few more I’m not remembering). His mother is from here and had animals growing up, so the tradition continues…

Our whole family went next door to Carolyn’s house this afternoon as we are taking care of her friend’s border collie, Finn. Well Finn is obsessed with Carolyn’s cat Barney (see photo to the right). So much so in fact, that Finn will stare Barney down until Barney has enough of him and gives him a swat. He doesn’t seem to want to hurt Barney but will just stare at him with those “intense” eyes. We also got to see Carolyn’s collection of “Love Birds”. I played some YouTube videos of other love birds on my iPhone and they seemed to really like that.
Katie and I went for a drive this evening. She was hungry so we ended up at McDonalds are were able to use one of the “Meal” coupons that my wife gave me the other day. They are actually a pretty good deal, a Big Mac meal with fries and a drink for about $9.77! This was the first time Katie had a Big Mac and she really liked it. I had my ole’ standby black coffee of course. Guess you could rack this up as Daddy/Daughter Chat #39.
