Day #5743 – (Fri., Sep. 26, 2025) – Honoring Terry Fox

They honored Terry Fox at Huband today (see photo to the left)! Bobby had the opportunity to run for 40 minutes straight, which he was not all too happy about… 🙂

I drove my wife to pick up the van at the repair shop this afternoon, but it turned out to be quite the excursion… Downtown Courtenay turned into a mess with two separate accidents unfolding almost simultaneously. One car even flipped over, and traffic gridlock quickly spread across the main routes. To top it off, the 17th Street bridge was closed, which made things even more chaotic. We took the detour around downtown, but other cars decided to do the same…

Rather than face the traffic and head back home, I went to the Tin Roof Cafe for a coffee and my wife went to Winners do do some shopping. The barista made a “Scary Pumpkin” design on a coffee at my suggestions. Though in separate cars, both my wife and I took the long way home via Black Creek. Highway exit 144 toward Black Creek was smooth sailing, while Piercy Road and other approaches were rough, especially with the rain coming down.

Bobby was talking to Ethan and I told him that Paul McCartney is going to tour a few US cities, such as Houston. One year ago I was planning my trip to see him in Mexico City!

Katie scored a 99 on her unit test, raising her overall grade to an A. She’s overjoyed!

If you “twist” the nozzle on Bobby’s back bike tire it is possible to fit the pump nozzle onto it, but the pump sure needs a lot of arm work… Maybe there is something wrong with it? I might ask the guy at the bike repair shop when I go.

I noticed that Katie left her umbrella in my car the other day so I returned it to her while she was out on the swing this evening.
