Katie went to Soulina’s birthday party at 1:30 pm today. She mentioned how it was strange for her to feel excited about an event rather than stressed out about it. That’s how life is don’t you think? She’s excited about giving her scrapbook to Soulina and being a good friend to her and this takes her mind off herself. Good practice for future giving.

Bobby, on the other hand, didn’t spend any time with his friends today. Well, correction, those he could see… He did however spend all day online playing Minecraft with Ethan, his friend from Chapel Hill.
Soulina’s birthday party started off at a community location on Dove Creek Road. From there it transferred to the LINC Youth Centre & Indoor Skatepark next to Value Village. Katie and her friends did some TikToks (see photo to the right). I picked Katie up at this location at 6 pm.
From the LINC Center we drove a few blocks down the road to the Superstore so Katie could pick up some snacks for tomorrow as she plans on having the girls over to continue Soulina’s birthday party. Originally it was for just Soulina and her to work on her homework, but the agenda got expanded. I mentioned her her that she could always have Soulina come over a couple of hours early, do their homework, and then have the other girls come after that, and she liked that solution.
Snacks at the Superstore? The necessities of course! Oreo cookies, potato chips, vanilla birthday cupcakes (at Soulina’s request), and lemonade. What more would 15 year old girls want?
Katie is always complaining that Bobby and his friends are very loud when they are over to the house so I suggested that she “tongue in cheek” mention to Bobby that she was going to have some friends over tomorrow to do scrapbooking and homework and other noisy activities like that, and if the noise bothers him, let her know… I wonder how he will respond… 🙂
