Day #1297 (Tue., July 23, 2013) – Daddy…You Go To Bed…
I went to Sam’s Club for supplies at noon today. We were out of paper towels, toilet tissue, and sandwich bags.
The initial plan this evening was for my wife to go to bed and get a few hours sleep. That was not to be as Katie would not let her. She cried and cried so the plan changed to be that I would go to bed and get a few hours and my wife would wake me up and I would take over. As I was heading to bed Katie said “Stop…I haven’t given you a kiss yet”. That was it…til my wife woke me up at 9pm…my shift.
Job #1…finding something for Katie to eat. She said she wanted strawberries (I’m not sure why but she is really into strawberry “anything” these days), but when we didn’t have any in the fridge she got excited about cherries. One bowl down and she asked for another. After cutting a second bowl of cherries and giving them to her she decided that she had enough cherries…go figure.
Katie and I started off by doing some drawings on the poster board (see photo to the left). We then graduated to playing with animals on the living room floor. First she wanted to build an animal train, but that evolved into an animal hospital. Eventually she decided that she needed to make a lotion for her toy giraffe’s throat.
