As you can tell from the photo to the right, Katie’s drawing is getting better and better.
Margaret, Katie’s current babysitter for Tuesdays & Thursdays, will be leaving us soon. As a result we are in the market for a new babysitter. My wife has placed an ad on a babysitting website and has received the following response:

I have a daughter who is 2 years and 9 months old. I have watched after her every day since the day she was born. It is a happy time in my life. I love kids. I enjoy taking her to the library, museum, playground, reading her books, playing with puzzles, so I think that I would be a great fit for your needs, especially for babysitting a child 2-4 years old. They could play and learn together. Especially if you are interested in your child learning Chinese, I am the right person. I am Chinese. My daughter and I both can speak English and Chinese. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.

We’ve been thinking since Katie was born how nice it would be for Katie to get some exposure to Mandarin. Perhaps this is our opportunity?
My wife sent me the following email while I was at work:

So she didn’t nap and is not asleep in the living room either. I bet we are heading for a very early night! So we definitely are not going out tonight. Tomorrow I am not working (Margaret is out).

I was talking to my sister this evening and Katie was extremely fussy. A bit of Caillou and then off to bed for her…
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) We’re off to look for yet another babysitter for Katie.
