Day #1930 (Fri., Apr. 17, 2015) – Bun In Katie’s Hair
As I was driving Katie to school this morning she mentioned that she didn’t sleep well as my wife forgot to take the “bun” out of her hair. I told her not to take it out now as she needed it to keep her hair in place for school. This lead to a conversation about who else should not go outside without a bun. I said a “Hot Dog”. The hot dog would say “I’ve got ketchup and mustard all over me but I’m naked without my bun”. Katie got a good laugh out of that.
On the way home from work I stopped off at the Dollar Store and got a BIG gift bag (see photo to the left) for the birthday party we are going to tomorrow. I also got Katie some card games…I was surprised that she remembered how to play “fish”…that was a while back now…
My wife took the elastic out of Katie’s hair this evening and her hair just flowed. Wild blonde and wavy hair…just like daddy used to have years ago. I got an email from a middle school friend a few years ago and he said he still remembered me and my long flowing wavy blonde hair…the envy of all the guys. I never even thought of it…or how guys envied it. It just was…
I was singing “Rock A Bye Baby” to little Bobby this evening and he gave me a big grin. As my wife says today he was the most “alert and human”. Let’s hope those long nights of nursing are behind us now.
