Day #6006 – (Tue., June 16, 2026) – Toucan Art!

Bobby drove his bike to Huband and I drove Katie back and forth from Vanier today.

The photo to the right shows the toucan that Katie made. She really should consider making art and selling it at a booth at the farmer’s market this summer.

All Huband students went to Miracle Beach today. My wife packed Bobby a lunch. Bobby was disappointed in that they would not let the kids into the water. They basically played on the beach, making sand castles and such. Last year they let the kids wade up to their knees. Probably someone disobeyed the rules last year and this year all students have to suffer…that’s usually the way that these things happen.

Katie went on a field trip to the Air Force museum. She said that it was really boring with just talking about various aircraft facts. We joked about how much better it would be to have a funny story of a pilot who needed to go to the bathroom while he was flying and the various antics he would go through to relieve himself… 🙂

Katie had an interact meeting after she got back from the museum visit. She was worried that she might have to miss it.

There was this HUGE jet noise overhead the homestead this afternoon. Both my wife and I heard it. It sounded like a jet was going to crash into the house. My wife ran outside to see what it was and it was a huge aircraft. No crash, just noise!

This evening I took the kids to Miss Daisy’s for viola/violin lessons. I dropped them off and went to Walmart to see about getting a door knob with a lock for Katie. They didn’t have a great selection so I might need to go to Home Depot. While at Walmart I picked up a huge bag of chips and candy for them when they got out of class.
