I drove to the lawyer in Cary this afternoon. She didn’t take credit cards so I had to stop by this afternoon to give her a check.
I stopped off at Wal-Mart and got two composition books for Katie. They only cost $0.50…but I can draw a picture in them and print the word below it. I figure that this is a good way for her to learn how to spell (see photo to the left).
Katie is saying three “two” syllable words now: baby, orange, and water. Also, in Katie’s world: Bunny is “ba” and glasses is “ga”. House, tree and home are also in her repertoire.
My wife wanted to work on her thesis so I took Katie out by myself this evening. It was hot so we decided to go inside…to the mall where the Thomas The Train display is. When we got there it was raining. I called my wife and asked her what I should do. I could always “make a run for it”, but by the time I got Katie inside she would be wet. We decided to go to Lowe’s in Cary…my wife looked on the map and it was not raining there. By the time we got there it was raining there as well so we decided to just come home. Katie had a nice relaxing drive…but not much else.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Katie is learning how to spell from the “flash cards” we are making.
