Dateline 2:15am: Rumbling in the nursery. I let my wife sleep and took the baby monitor out of the bedroom and went to get Katie. We have run out of goat’s milk so I heated up some regular milk for her. She was not interested in yogurt, but did munch on a “cook” (i.e.: cracker). I played with her til about 4:30am and put her to bed.
One interesting thing happened while I was playing with her. I drew a series of circles on a drawing pad and gave Katie a sticker. She proceeded to put each sticker I gave her into each of the circles I drew. It is amazing the manual dexterity and attention to detail that she has.
Katie loves to climb onto her dollhouse. The photo to the left shows her climbing onto it while she watches Lawrence Welk.
We are running out of almost everything so we had to go to Trader Joe’s at noon today. Katie and my mother-in-law came along for the ride. It is raining so often during the evening these days at least this ensures that Katie will be able to get out and run around.
My mother-in-law and I took Katie to the playground near Bond Park again this evening. When we leave later in the evening it is the closest, and therefore ensures that Katie will have the most playtime before it gets dark. Of course Katie wanted to spend most of her time on the swings. Just before we left my mother-in-law said to Katie (my wife told me later in the evening as I don’t speak Lithuanian) would you like to play with that little girl or go home? Katie then decided to go out of the swing (something I had been trying to get her to do for most of the evening). I guess given these two options she would rather have the former. Katie understands…
