I had to go to the Dollar Store today and ended up picking up some things for Katie. They were:
1) A keychain penlight – We noticed during our drive last night that Katie got fussy once the sun went down. Perhaps she is afraid of the dark? Today I got her a keychain light that goes on or off when you click the button. We’re planning to attach it to her car seat belt and if it gets dark outside she can push the button to get some light. At any rate she will enjoy playing with it.
2) A tape measure (see photo to the right) – Katie enjoyed playing with mine so I figured for $1.00 she could have her own. We could take turns measuring things and counting out the inches as well.
3) A level – I’ll explain to Katie how the level works and how certain things are not “level” by way of the “bubble” not being centered.
I got the slinky off the shelf this evening and Katie and I played with that a bit. She was interested in it this time. The last time I showed her I think she might have been too young to enjoy it.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
