Day #824 (Fri., Apr. 6, 2012) – What’s That Sound?
I took today off work so that I could go out to our new house and work on the floors. Katie was in a very happy and energetic mood so she woke me up around 8am. My wife says that she has never seen her this energetic. She wanted to watch “Bubble Guppies” then “Team Umazoomi”.
One of Katie’s favorite sayings these days is “What’s That Sound?”. While she was watching cartoons this morning she said this a number of times… First for an owl (actually a bird but Katie thought it was an owl)… Then for the sound of the garbage cans opening and closing… Then for the sound of the garage door opening and closing…
I spent most of the day at the new house putting down portland cement in the kitchen and taking up the musty old carpet from the basement. I bought a floor scraper from Home Depot but when I returned to the house the sun had gone down. The lighting is not the best in the kitchen so I drove home to Cary to get a couple of good lights…
On the way home I stopped off at the Dollar Store to get some retractable knives. I got an 8-pack of dice (see photo to the left) and some bubbles for Katie. This evening we had fun tossing the dice around. I would yell “Snake Eyes” and let them fall onto the bed. Katie would squeal with delight…
9:10pm – Time to go back to the new house. I need to put some more portland cement down so it will be dry tomorrow morning…
