Day #2003 (Mon., June 29, 2015) – Chapel Hill Gymnastics

2015-06-29 - GymnasticsI dropped Katie off at Chapel Hill Gymnastics (see photo to the left) this morning. On the way there I told her that there were two important things she had to do at the gymnastics camp this year. #1 was to have fun. #2 was, and only if she felt like it, to try out new things and take advantage of any opportunity to learn. I told her that the teachers were there to help and would make sure she was safe and not harmed. I just left it at that…

When I dropped Katie off the girl there, Melanie, remembered Katie from last year, which was nice. There was no crying or begging me to stay (like last year). I picked her up at noon and drove her home. We were hoping that Izzy would be able to babysit today and tomorrow but she is busy.

I was tired when I got home from work and went to bed for a nap. No walking for us tonight. Little Bobby seems to be the only one in our house who is not exhausted…

Katie told us that she learned how to do a summersault and a cartwheel today. The teacher helped her. Both my wife and I were so extremely proud of her and told her so. Looks like the little chat we had in the car this morning took heart.
