Day #2824 (Fri., Sep. 29, 2017) – The Day After
The nurse came in during the middle of the night and put the artwork that Katie did for me up on the wall (see photo to the left). On the far right of the picture is the blue tie that Katie made for me. I took a picture of me wearing it in the hospital bed and forwarded it to her via IM.
Today is effectively my first full day in the hospital. One thing of note is the food service available. Hospital food has been the brunt of jokes for ages, but we now get a menu to choose from. I had the French toast this morning as the nurse said that he had never seen anyone order that before. It was quite good…and I don’t really like French toast.
My wife brought the kids over this afternoon. This is the first time that they got to see daddy after the knee replacement operation. They were crawling around on the floor and we were joking that they were “hospital roombas”. Katie seemed to understand the seriousness of what was going on. Bobby on the other hand just viewed this as another location of fun and adventure.
