Day #5988 – (Fri., May 29, 2026) – London Drug Ankle Brace!

My wife had the day off work today, except for a seminar between 10 and noon, so she took Katie to school today. Bobby is still home nursing his hurt ankle. I picked Katie up at Vanier at 11:50 am and we went for a drive.

Katie and I went for a drive. She was upset that she didn’t do as well on a math quiz that she could have. She didn’t “summarize”. She blamed Model UN and all the work that it took to prepare for her “Brazil” representation. She’s being a bit hard on herself, but I understand those days so well. We came up with ideas on how to make sure this “summarize” thing doesn’t happen again in the future.

We ended up on the lookout over Goose Split and came up with this novel idea of a rich man who is so into himself he takes whatever he wants. We envisioned him walking up to the door of a house he liked in this neighborhood, knocking on the door, and offering the lady who opened the door $1 million for the house. When she said it wasn’t for sale he would keep upping the bid. At $10 million he would say that this is surely enough and that she should start packing as he was planning to clean up and have a party in his new house tonight… 🙂

Katie wanted McDonalds so we picked up a nugget combo for her. I felt bad for Bobby being home so we picked up a 2 cheeseburger combo for him. Strawberry Fruitopia for Bobby and a Coke for Katie. Katie says that she likes Coke from time-to-time, but not the bubbles. I said she should just let it go flat then and we both agreed that it tastes horrible when flat. Two regular Oreo McFlurries completed the order. You can see the drink tray on the way to the house in the photo to the right.

My wife managed to get an appointment at Urgent Care for Bobby. They sent him to get X-Rays. There was the possibility of a broken bone, but in the end that was thankfully not the case. This evening I went to London Drugs to pick up an ankle brace for Bobby.

Bobby was researching bikes this evening! I told him that we would go out bike shopping once he felt better. He’s leaning toward a mountain bike now as they have “shock absorbers”.
