After dropping Katie off at Vanier this morning I took Bobby to see Dr. Lawley for a second opinion on his ankle. He saw the x-ray done last week at the hospital and said just give the ankle time and it will heal in about 4-6 weeks. I then swung by Huband and dropped Bobby off at the entrance.

After dropping Bobby off at school I drove his eBike in the van to Black’s Cycle. He said that he would fix the rear tire for $50, like last time, but I needed to come back and pick it up tomorrow afternoon. He did call later today and said that they found time to fix it, but they close at 5 pm and I was taking the kids to Miss Daisy’s house for their viola/violin lessons, so tomorrow it will have to be.
After dropping the kids off at Miss Daisy’s house I drove to Walmart to get my wife two gallons of milk. While there I saw a box of Mr. Freezes, so I picked up a box of those as well. Bobby drew a wonderful picture of a bird while at Miss Daisy’s this evening (see photo to the right)!
Black’s Cycle said that Bobby would fit fine on a 26″ bike, so I dropped by Costco this evening to see what they have. Unfortunately they don’t have any 26″ models on the display floor. I’m going to see if I can get one online. ChatGPT (for whatever that’s worth) says that their brand of Mountain Bike is quality for the price. I’d like to get one for Bobby as a graduation present asap so that he can use it before the school year ends.
This evening I checked out Canadian Tire and Walmart and they seem to have mountain bikes with “shock absorbers” (which is a must have in Bobby’s eyes) that are much more reasonable than the $1500 that Black’s Cycle had. I plan to take Bobby out in the next few days and see what they have available and see what he thinks. My thought process right now is to get him a good workable model with “shock absorbers” for now, and if he uses it all the time, get him a much more expensive model in the fall or for graduation next year if he wants it.
