Day #6014 – (Wed., June 24, 2026) – Katie’s New Bike!

Bobby went to school today but came home sick. My wife said that he was running around and suspects he got overheated. He napped in the afternoon.

At 3:45 pm today I took Katie to the Vanier graduation at the fairgrounds. She received an invitation from Jax to attend. It was held outside, and very hot, so she was not looking forward to attending. I told her that she should “reframe” it to make it a bit more enjoyable…at least now she will know what a high school graduation is like so she won’t need to be so concerned or worried about it when her time comes.

We got almost to the fairgrounds when Katie realized that she forgot her ticket, so we had to go back and get it. At least a bit less time in the sun… 🙂 One of her friends held a seat for her, so at least she didn’t need to worry about that.

Jax’s last name starts with “M”, and Katie left after that, so I picked her up at the fairground entrance.

I was going for a coffee when I realized that we had probably go to Walmart and get that bike Katie wanted before they are sold out, so I swung back home, picked up the van, and off we went. One of the bikes had maladjusted handlebars, and one had a loose chain, but the third one was fine. Katie even drove it up and down an aisle to test it out (see photo to the right).

I booked a session for Katie with Amy tomorrow at 6 pm. She wants to discuss her autism assessment, so my wife sent it to Amy. I plan to bring Bobby along as well. Amy is eager to meet him and perhaps she can give some suggestions as to why he is missing so much school. He does tend to be injury prone, and there are a lot of virus’s around, but nobody in his class misses as many school days as he does.
