Day #6030 – (Fri., Jul. 10, 2026) – eTrike Arrives!

I took Darius out for a drive this morning and then to the BC Services office to do his driver’s test.  He got it! Kristina and Darius spent the afternoon at our house and then they drove back to Victoria as Darius has to work tomorrow.

UPS dropped off my eTrike while we were away. I spent the afternoon putting it together. It was packed very well, and pretty self-explanatory but I did have to ask ChatGPT about putting the front fender on (see photo to the left). Things went remarkably well, but with my two knee replacements and not being used to so much manual “machinery” labor, I was sore when it came time to plug it in and charge the battery. Tomorrow will be the “inaugural” bike ride! Bobby is eager to try it out as well!

Bobby took off for a ride on his new “two-wheel suspension” bike this afternoon. His “front-wheel only suspension” bike will have to wait. I got to looking at it when he brought it back and I think I might have a solution. There is a space between the seat and the rest of the frame, so if I can “plug” that, we are off to the races (or so it would seem).

Bobby was looking for something to do later this afternoon so he washed the van. I might pull the Toyota Camry Hybrid next to the hose tomorrow so he can give it a wash as well.

Katie and I went for a drive this evening. We stopped off at McDonalds and I picked up my “usual” $1 black coffee and she got one of their “refresher” drinks.

My wife is heading out to Duncan tomorrow morning to help out the staff with their hospital duties now that the nurses are on strike.
