This afternoon I took the kids to the 12:15 pm showing of “The Odyssey” at Landmark Cinemas in Courtenay. We sat at the front (see photo to the right)! We had to settle for 2d as the 3d rooms have all been taken over by the new Spiderman movie, which opened today!
I got the kids a combo meal, which included one large popcorn (with unlimited refills), two medium drinks, and one large candy. Katie asked Bobby if he wanted butter on his popcorn, but I was to learn he “sheepishly agreed” as I needed to go back after the movie started to get him a medium popcorn without butter. He said that butter hurts his stomach. Katie said that she was impressed with how he shared the large candy!
The movie was GREAT! Long, but with so much action you didn’t notice the time passing. Some of the highlights were:
- The cyclops appearing! Certainly different from the one I watched in the ole’ Sinbad movie!
- The witch turning the soldiers into pigs!
- The Trojan Horse (but of course)!
This evening Katie had to return Soulina’s wallet to her, so we took a drive out to her place to drop it off. She invited Katie to go camping with her in an upcoming weekend, and Katie had no interest at all in this activity. After dropping the wallet off Katie took the wheel and drove the car for a bit.
I went to McDonalds this evening and had a little midnight ride down the end of our street and back on my eTrike. All these little midnight rides are adding up. I’ve already gone 4 miles!
