Day #2791 (Sun., Aug. 27, 2017) – Walkie Talkies Arrive
My wife took Katie to the “Forest Puppet” show across from the UNC auditorium this afternoon. They met Wyatt and family there. I told Katie that when she got home, and Bobby was up from his nap, I would have a great present for her.
The present was “Walkie Talkies” (see photo to the left). We got four units in case some when missing. Good thing we did as Bobby insists on having a walkie-talkie in each hand. They have different channels, work for free, and have a transmission distance of 3 kilometers. Katie will be able to take them to Helen’s place and we will be able to communicate with her. The kids will get a kick out of them when they come over for a play date.
Bobby enjoyed them but Katie loved them. In fact, at one point she said that they were the best present ever. She would run around the house and I would talk back and forth with her. Bobby couldn’t get the hang of “holding down” the talk button, which is required in order to transmit your voice, but he got to hear all the talking between Katie and myself.
