Day #6029 – (Thu., Jul. 9, 2026) – Toy Story 5

I took Bobby to see “Toy Story 5” at Landmark Cinemas in Courtenay this afternoon for Daddy/Son Day #109. We had tickets to the “3D Version”, and he ordered a large combo meal when we arrived. A combo meal includes a large popcorn, large drink (Fruitopia), and a large candy.

Here’s a recap of Toy Story 5: “Toy Story 5 follows Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the gang as they face a new challenge when Bonnie becomes attached to Lilypad, a frog-shaped smart tablet that encourages her to spend more time on screens than with her toys. With Jessie now leading Bonnie’s toy collection, Woody returns to help Buzz rescue Jessie and Bullseye and protect the importance of imaginative play. Along the way, the toys realize that technology isn’t the enemy, but that children need a healthy balance between digital entertainment and real-world creativity. In the end, Bonnie reconnects with her toys while still embracing technology in moderation, and Woody returns to his life with Bo Peep’s toy-rescue team, leaving the story on a hopeful note.

Bobby couldn’t finish his whole bag of popcorn so we took it home to Katie.

Bobby is saying how he wants another bike, one with only shock absorbers on the front wheel. Apparently it’s hard to pedal his current bike as there are shock absorbers on the back?

When we got home Bobby got on his bike and rode over to Bryston’s house. His mother was backing out of the driveway and Bobby got nervous and fell off his bike, so another injury. He managed to ride the bike home but is resting some more.

Kristina and Darius are arriving this evening. Darius has his driver’s license exam tomorrow. They got in late due to an accident at Malihat.

My wife is going to Duncan on Saturday.
