Day #892 (Wed., June 13, 2012) – Bring Out The Tent

2012-06-13 – Katie Sees A Deer

We live in a little zoo in Chapel Hill. We see deer roaming around our yard on a daily basis (see photo to the right). Katie calls them “reindeer”. I saw a turtle in the driveway the other day and there are bunnies in the woods. Squirrels are playing constantly in the trees and a bird has made a nest out of one of the plotting plants my wife set up. Nice to have our own little slice of nature for Katie to grow up in.

My wife was afraid to take Katie to the neighbors to see their dog Zach in case nobody would let her in. The resulting effect is a Katie tantrum that none of us wants to deal with.

Once I got home from work Katie and I played “tent” like we did yesterday. My wife then suggested that we bring out the collapsible tent that we bought Katie back when we were living in Cary. She played with it for a while then asked me if I wanted to join her. I’m afraid it’s a bit too small for me…

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
——————————
1) Katie doesn’t seem to be as impressed with deer as she is with dogs.
