Day #1644 (Sat., July 5, 2014) – Katie’s First Train Ride
Katie had her first train ride today. We dropped our car off at the Durham Station and took the train to Greensboro. It was quite the experience for Katie. She enjoyed eating Goldfish (from the vending machine) and sitting in the dining car.
Once in Greensboro we stopped off at their Kid’s Museum. They have a plane cockpit (see photo to the left), a police car, post off ice car and other forms of fun and entertainment. I think Katie enjoyed playing doctor in their surgery area and doing arts and crafts the most.
We then took at stroll to downtown Durham. We bought Katie at $2.00 red ice cream dessert at a street vendor cart and she ate the whole thing. We had dinner at an Italian Restaurant and got some sweet treats at a nearby bakery. Katie wanted a red, white & blue cake that was disgustingly sweet.
We took the train out of Greensboro just before 7pm. It was a fun day but Katie was sure tired by the time she got home.
