Day #5945 – (Thu., Apr. 16, 2026) – Bobby’s Monitor Rise

Today I took Katie to school, and then brought her back home, then back to school for Model UN, and then back home again! Bobby was much easier to “deliver” to school today as he just took his bike!

Katie had Interact/Rotary Club at noon today. They are planning two upcoming events, a car wash, and a movie night for Vanier graduates. Stay tuned…

My wife and Bobby spent some time setting up a monitor rise for the computer monitors on his desk (see photo to the left). As you can tell from the top photo, Maple helped out immensely… 🙂

Our tax bill is due so I had to transfer approximately $30,000 CDN$ from my Fidelity ROTH in the US to RBC to cover it. Fortunately, my wife did the numbers, and strangely enough, with the exchange rate and different taxation models, it looks like she will be earning more with this new Canadian job than her previous American one! She is going to meet with Diane on Monday and plans to thank her for mentioning this new job opening. She would have never thought to look into getting a job in Lake Cowichan!!! “Law of Attraction –> Bridge of Incidents” I say… 🙂

Katie and her friends from the Model UN group at Vanier are in the process of picking “The Americas” countries to represent for an upcoming meeting. It looks like Jax will be taking the US, so Canada is thinking of taking Canada. I told her that Brazil is another huge and powerful country, and since it’s in South America, I think it is another good option.
